Articles, poems and music. 12 full-color plates depicting current fashion, with tissue guards. The text block is firmly together, however, the front board is detached. and the back hinge is broken. Boards are buckram with leather corners and spine.

Jacket has a 1" tear at the head of the spine. Laminated, pictorial boards that match the jacket. Included are Raffia clothes of Zaire, Kente, Bogolan, Oke and wax-printed cloths.

New York W. Jennings Demorest 1876 & 1877 Hardcover Very Good 
24 issues (1876 & 1877) of the magazine bound in heavy black buckram boards with leather corners and spine. Gold lettering on the spine, leather is scuffed at corners and moderately on the spine. Front hinge is cracked, however all pages firmly bound. Contains 20 delightful hand-colored full-page fashion plates plus one chromolithograph of an outdoor festivity with a maypole. Each issue has numerous b&w illustrations depicting fashions, jewelry, hair dressings plus many pictures to accompany articles. There are several articles and fashions devoted to the cenntenial celebration. There are several fold-out illustrations; three of these have damage (February 1876 is torn,September 1876 is torn with center piece missing, October 1876 has 3" hole). . There are a few very minor tears within, but no paper loss other than on the aforementioned foldouts.
