R. duMont 1901 Cloth Near Fine None Issued Jacket Edition de la Pacification, "with notes by Tobias Smollett, revised and modernized new translation by William F. Fleming, and an introduction by Oliver H. G. Leigh." A critique and biography by The Rt. Hon. John Morley - One Hundred and Sixty-Eight Designs comprising reproductions of rare old engravings, steel plates, photogravures, and curious fac-similies. Bound in deep red cloth with gold lettering and decoration on spine. Volume 11, part of the philosophical dictionary is missing from the set and also volume 19, dramas; 25 and 29, part of the general history section; and volumes 1, 4 and 26. 34 of these volumes still have uncut pages, paper is unblemished, only the slightest amount of shelfwear to spines, no fading. Volume 36, Poems, has what looks like a pinprick about halfway up the spine, slight soiling to the outer cover, and some of the pages have been cut at the edges in order to read the book. It is unmarked, as the others, all illustrations in place with their protective pages. Title pages printed in red and black, wonderful paper. Bright gilt top edges. This set is #704 of 1000. Price:
