Circa 1900. This is 23 volumes of the 25 volume set. Volumes 1 and 2 are missing. Illustrated with a frontispiece in photogravure, each illustration has tissue guard printed with caption. Very attractive binding in black cloth with floral decoration on covers and spines in light green and orange. Spine titles are gold, most very bright, a few slightly rubbed. Interiors are clean and unmarked, slight soiling on top edge. All bindings are sound except for flaws on 3 volumes as noted. Volume 23, "Regent's Daughter", cracked front hinge at title page. Volume 13, "Twenty Years After", cracked front hinge at title page. Volume 18, "Two Dianas Part 1", cloth on spine has separated and front cover is hanging on by a thread - literally. There are no numbers on spines, but the 25 volume information is printed on the title page. Each volume is approximately 6" x 8 1/8".
