London: George Routledge and Sons, 1875. Very Good. 7" x 10 1/4", two volumes, each 560 pages, Glossorial Index at the back of volume two, 340 illustrations by sir John Gilbert. Pages are clear, binding is firm, an occasional bit of foxing on the white endpapers. Bound in tan leather with gold decoration on the front and spines. Five raised bands, black title block atop a red block which indicates the volume. Gold borders along the edges of the boards, all edges gilt. Marb;ed end[a[ers. A few scuffs on the leather , light wear at the corners. a break near the top of the spine fold on volume two, which is still quite firm. There are three indication of previous ownership. 'A gift to sister M. Jane Catherine on her feast day, Her Father'. Also a different bookplate inside the front cover of each volume.
