With frontis and title page engavings included, volume 1 contains 21 plates, volume two has 13 plates, volume 3 with 22 plates and volume four containing 27 plates. One plate in volume 4 has a tear which was reapired with a piece of tape on the back. Marbled endpapers and edges. Black leather spines and corners; corners are scuffed.. Cloth loosening from leather on volume one on about half of rear board. Faint water line near edge on much of volume one, also on volume one, the first three pages are detached from the binding. This consists of two white endpapers and the first engraving. Two pages detached near the center on volume three. Marbled endpapers and edges. Slight foxing. Former owner's name very elegantly stamped in front.
